Okay, sorry to be so slow. Bee was kind enough to dig me out some space on her web site to put my story. So, if you want to read it, it's at http://www.treebeard.net/MightyLady/fanuilh.html.

Criticism is always welcome, just remember it's already been published so it's too late! smile Bee's already corrected one spelling error. I can't believe I boofed "minuscule." And I probably added it to spellcheck without thinking. Oy.

    Cheers, y'all.

569 pieces of junk mail in 24 hours? Wow. I think I'll stop whining about the garbage that shows up in my email box; I have nothing to complain about.

Just got back from the newspaper interview. The reporter told me to bring "photos and memorabilia," so I packed a box with a few things -- yearbooks, pictures, newpaper articles and letters -- ended up weighing about 40 pounds, and dragged it along with. They're coming out Tuesday morning to take a picture of me in my natural environment (there wasn't a photographer available this morning to do it during the interview), so I guess I need to clean. The article is scheduled to appear March 23rd.

    Cheers, y'all.

I must say...that is a very insightful story you wrote. How did you come up with it?

Not sure. The stories come from somewhere outside me.... I was writing about a friend, sort of, who used to be a counselor before she became an AF officer. I have no idea what being a counselor is like, so I just sort of made it up. And with all the school shootings and bombings that have been happening, I wanted to be able to stop one, even if it was only in a story. That's one advantage of being a writer, I guess. You can set up a tragedy and then stop it, if you want to. Or if The Source for the stories will let you! smile

    Fan, that was wonderful!!!

I have an assignment for you. Do one of those for the mess in the Middle East. Then maybe we can hope that it is possible to stop the bloodshed.

    Congratulations.

Nice story Fan. I can see now why you won the award and the little bit of celebrity status. Well deserved.
